Snoozeville! I am a consummate award-show fanatic, and pledge each year to watch or see more and more movies so I feel that I am an educated entity when watching these shows. But this year it seemd not to have been any help as my favorites--or even those I felt worthy of victory--won an award. I was "0 for 10"...not a winner picked in the bunch. And the fashions? SNORE! So...whatcha wanna know about my picks and pans of the evening? Brace yourself...
First off...keep J-Lo away from lamee! What an unimaginative and cliched dress; hell, I don't even think drag queens would want to work that piece of *$(@! I cannot rememebr her name to save my life, but to the actress who won for "Happy GO Lucky"...have a burger! When your arms are as thin as the threads used to sew your gown together its time to eat...and swallow! Mickey Rourke...'nough said. Now though it pains me deeply to pan this woman, Glenn Close did not hit even a single with her ensemble...but I'll give her a base hit anyway only because I love her sooooo much!
Who did I like? I though Renee Zelwegger was FLAWLESS! It looked like Chanel couture--whether I'm right I do not know--but she was impeccable...as always. Eva Longoria was smashing...Drew Barrymore was ethereal. Demi was good (better with Ashton on her arm). Colin Farrel looked dapper (as long as he kept his mouth shut).
Congrats to those who won, although it seems as if those who were thought to have no chance in hell of winning were indeed those who rose victorious. I was stupified at Meryl Streep not winning at least one of the two categories for which she was nominated. It is no surprise that I adore "Momma Mia" and I loved her in that movie, but face it...the success of that movie belongs not to any one actor...they all shone brilliantly and worked together to deliver the most entertaining movie I have yet to see. Meryl's perfection was her role in "Doubt" and I was shocked she did not walk away with the honors. I was saddened Brad Pitt did not get the honors for "Benjamin Button". While I have yet to see the movie, the bits that flash across the TV at commercials was enough to make up my mind.
I could go on, but in an attempt to maintain a sense of dignity I will let what's been said as enough said. I commend all of those in the industry for their work as it takes true passion to pursue such a calling and true talent to get to the point of being so publicly recognized by these award shows. It's fun to judge and our right to hold opinions...it's entertainment. We needn't make it anymore serious than that unless we, ourselves, can prove we can do better. Have fun...we're here so short a time as to waste those seconds on anything else.

About Me
- Robert
- "Small town", North Carolina, United States
- A man of endless ideas with a dire need to bring them all to life. I thrive on creativity, nearly to the point of insatiability (if that indeed is a word...if not, it is now!) So...whatcha wanna know? I'm all yours. Ask me anything...how'd I do that? Where'd I find those? What the hell was I thinking? I'll try to answer it the best way that I can. Got a design problem? I'm not award-winning (yet), nor do I have my own show (yet), but I've kinda got things going on as far as design and decorating. Got a "guy" problem? I've been through good relationships gone bad, and bad relationships gone worse, but I always end up back at the starting line with some good wisdom and a level-headed way of thinking...and living. I may not have the answer you want to hear, but I'll sure as hell guarantee you it will be my honest answer. Got a yearning to tell me how awesome I am? I'll crank up the modesty and let you talk nice about me as long as your little tongue will hold out. This is your forum, and my answers a way of passing along what life has allowed me to learn.

Highlights for me? Tony Shalhoub in the Nehru jacket. I wanted to hate it, but I love him...and after four or five glances, I had to give him credit for "wearing his quirky".
The Tracey Morgan acceptance for 30 Rock was hysterical - mostly because of the horrified looks on the faces behind him!
And, OMG did Amy Poehler look great for just having had a kid. (Is it wrong that I want to add "bitch" at the end of that sentence...?)
I am not a Tracey Morgan fan...too "one-sided". He needs to get away form the crutch Tina Fey's show is providing his career.
You asked!
